Frequently Asked Questions
My buddy bought PatchMap. I'm trying to copy his version, but it isn't working . . . can you help?
First off, no - we won't help you steal our stuff (but we're happy you like us so much).
Secondly, no - you can't copy our products. (We thought of this already). That's why our products are locked down to their respective SD cards. You can share the original PatchMap card between Garmin GPS units, but PatchMap will only work in a Garmin with an original PatchMap card. This means your buddy can loan you PatchMap, but when you give 'er back (by removing the SD card from your GPS), PatchMap goes, too.
So, where'd you get all the roads, anyways?
We have lots of friends. PatchMap is the most popular oilfield mapping software in Western Canada. Our users send us their tracks, we review, confirm, and then add them to our next update. We also spend hours (and hours and hours . . .) every month reviewing and digitizing government road info. We're always on the road or at our computers to keep the most current oilpatch road info at your fingertips. And there's perks to being our friend - if you're interested, ask Rob for more details.
