FireSpot

what is it . . .

FireSpot™ is a software program created by SkyBase to facilitate the documentation requirements of fire hot-spot detection and digital returns for qualifying helicopter pilots in Western Canada.

FireSpot™ takes all the heartache out of uploading the fireburn area to your Garmin GPS, creating the map with flown track, hot-spot and helipad coordinates, and map print outs- just what the doctor ordered!

how it is used . . .

If you’re a helicopter pilot documenting hot-spots and preparing digital returns, you’ll be given a memory stick of the fire area in GISshape file format – your job is to find and record all the hot-spots in the fire area.

With a few easy clicks, FireSpot™ will display the boundary of the fire area on your Garmin GPS.

Fly and document the hot-spots and helipads as you normally would. When you’re done, build the map to your specifications, and print or save in .pdf format for future printing. You’ll have the coordinates of the hot-spots and helipads, and an appropriately documented map complete with legend, as well as all required flight and operator information. There’s even a place for your company logo on the corner. Save all the required data back to the memory card and hand it back – you’re done!

why we created FireSpot™. . .

This program was designed specifically for helicopter companies and pilots who wish to qualify for fire hotspot detection during forest fire season, but don’t have the GIS expertise to properly tackle the new requirements. Of course, once you’ve qualified, you’ll be able to go anywhere and know that you satisfy the local requirements.

It is an easy-to-use, professional product priced at $795 . . . we have a seven-day trial version available for download here.

For those who have already been using the original program,…Please un-install all previous versions as this is a brand new program.
